Blake Reasoner (Chicago State University)
Blake Reasoner (he/him) is a Chicago State University Communications, Media Arts and Theater alumnus with a focus in Public Relations. Reasoner now works as a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator at Chicago State University and as a Public Relations Practitioner for Fusion of Light Entertainment
“Being an alumnus of Chicago's only predominantly black institution is incredibly fulfilling. Being a Black man from Chicago, it was only natural to attend Chicago State University.”
“My college career began in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. I wanted to leave to go to college, but I knew going far away from home wouldn't be a smart idea at the time. I wanted the HBCU experience but closer to home. I knew of CSU's rich history on the South Side. I applied and was accepted with generous scholarship offers, more than I received from any other institution. I currently still reside in the Chicagoland area, and I'm staying because I love my city.”
Reasoner wanted to pursue his acting and collegiate career simultaneously and believes that Chicago is the perfect city to do so.
“Chicago is becoming the 2nd Hollywood and I am taking advantage of that.”
